豆花饭是中国汉代四川发明的一道家常美食，是以黄豆制作，伴以辣子醮料，与米饭一起吃，开胃健脾，又好味，又能吃饭，性价比又高，所以叫豆花饭。关于豆花饭，中国历史上有这样一个传说，在一座佛山下住著一户农家，农家裏有一个善良本分、勤劳朴实的农夫和他的母亲两人。一天农夫在上山途中，遇到一名女人呼救，急忙过去，看见一女子被毒蛇咬伤，农夫赶紧为她吸毒并包扎，女子见善良的农夫救了她，心生爱意，叫农夫去她家提亲。农夫去到女子家提亲时，才知道她是财主的女儿。财主见农夫家很贫穷，不答应这桩婚事，为了让农夫知难而退，财主对农夫说“如果你能让黄豆开花，就把女儿嫁你。”。农夫回到家怎么都想不出让黄豆开花的办法。至到有一天，在晚上睡梦中，佛山上的神仙来了，对他传授了能让黄豆开花的办法。农夫醒后，按神仙的方法制作，研磨黄豆，做成了雪白的豆花，大家都来品尝了这个雪白的豆花，觉得很好吃，就越传越广，更多的人前来吃豆花，农夫的豆花就卖得很好了，从此就富有了，取到了财主的女儿，豆花饭就流传了下来。
